Hi everyone, My name is Chinna Orish .I am MBBS holder ,have PhD in Anatomy and a Senior Lecturer in department of Anatomy ,University of PortHarcourt Nigeria . As a Physician I work in psychiatric hospital, developed interest in lecturing as I started lecturing job in 2007.My passion for knowledge acquisition and impartation drove me to Neuroscience. I lecture both graduate and undergraduate students neurobiology in my University Neuroscience research remained my first love but could not go into it until my postdoctoral training in US FDA, National Centre Toxicological Research NCTR, Jefferson Arkansas 2016-2017 in Division of Neurotoxicology in NCTR.My research interest is in dietary interventions in neurodegenerative diseases At the moment, I am heavily involved in mentoring Programs and Outreaches. I have coordinated and organized many Neuroscience Outreaches in my University during Brain Awareness Week. I am the Founder and Coordinator of Women in Neuroscience, Nigeria. The mission of Women in Neuroscience, Nigeria is to empower women to pursue career in neuroscience. I am also the Founder of Youth Neuroscience association Nigeria, member of TReND which is an educational outfit that teaches younger generation to choose career in neuroscience. Having a huge fan for outreaches and education, I inaugurated a foundation ESPIRISA CHINNA ORISH FOUNDATION. This outfit is a great forum for training ‘a total man’ especially in the area of living healthy life style, fashioning out a lot including health talks and organizing free medical treatment. The emphasizes on the health talk is on epigenetics, informing the general population that ‘you are what you eat’ and ‘gene is not your destiny’. The Foundation also offers yearly award to students of Anatomy with best grades in Neuroscience especially female students to encourage pursuit of career in neuroscience. I am excited to be a part of this wonderful team and look forward to meeting some of you to help you climb smoothly and successfully the ladder of academia.
