Mentorship Program

Our Mission

Pursuing neuroscience in high school can be confusing, but the IYNA’s mentorship program was developed to make this process easier. Members of the IYNA will be paired with undergraduate, graduate, and professional mentors, who will help them fulfill their own educational and career goals.

Our Mentors

Meet our team of mentors!

Let's Go!

  • Step 1: Create a Strategic Plan

Start by planning out how the mentorship program will be developed and run.

  • Step 2: Develop a Platform

Create an online platform where mentor bios will be displayed, and where prospective mentees can apply to be mentored.

  • Step 3: Recruit Mentors

Recruit and vet a number of mentors who will be able to work with high school students interested in participating.

  • Step 4: Expand the Program

Develop more resources for our mentees, such as Brain Bee preparation, online lectures by researchers, and group forums.

Get Involved!

If you are interested in being a mentor for the IYNA mentorship program, apply below! IYNA Mentors will be matched with high-school members of the IYNA and guide their mentees through the process of turning their interest in neuroscience into an educational and career path. Mentors must be university undergraduates or have graduated from an accredited university, and be committed to meeting with their mentees regularly for several months to ensure their success.
